Interesting! I wish that was the case. IIRC, I have read in a couple of places that the Taurus's PATS programming is stored in the IPC, therefore needing reprogramming if switched out or bricked. Of course, I could be totally wrong. If, in the process of updating firmware from 2015 to 2016, I ...

I have not, only because I only have one IAK (intelligent access key) and I need to make another. If something bad happens, you need to have 2 working keys to unlock the IPC. Once I do all that, I will come back and provide an update.

I am hoping this is the case, and I am hoping that I can get confirmation from someone else. I am going to keep researching and familiarizing myself with the firmware update process, but I believe I will end up trying this. The only other option that I can find is the possibility of swapping a 2016 ...

Where either one of you able to confirm that updating the IPC firmware in a 2015 Taurus to a 2016MY was successful and able to have a digital speedometer? My understanding is that the electrical architecture in a Taurus is different vs a Lincoln, and may not be able.
