Transit duratorq 2,4 tddi (vp44) DTC 1563, 1664

Post by tgraee »

Have changed fuelpump new rebuilt vp44 pump. Started up and all ok, big differens compared to the old one. Then suddenly engine started to cut out, engine lamp is then flashing. Turned the ignition off and engine started at once. The day after engine started quickly and cuts out after 4 seconds, and now it would not start at all. Have done a lot of tests checked out wirings and low pressure fuel system. Anyone got any idea?

if the fuel pump has a control unit on top then it will need to be matched to the pcm when a new pump is installed, not sure if it can be configured using forscan, might be a trip to ford.

Yes, this problem may be caused by PATS. Please execute the function "Module Initialization" in PATS menu. Here is information on how to use PATS function in FORScan:

http://forscan.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=839

Also you will need to obtain an Extended Licenses, it is free yet, here is information on how to get it:

http://forscan.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=836

In case of problems with using PATS function, please contact us using our support email on Contact Us page, we will try to assist.

One more thing: official version v2.2.1 has a bug in timed access procedure (required for FIP programming), the fix will be available in v2.2.2 that is not released yet. So you will need a test build, we will send it to you too.

It´s strange situation:
1. after new VP44 installed engine runs ok (new ecu should be self learned at firs time)
2. Then engine runs for a few seconds then stall...
3. Now start not.
I have replaced VP44 (renewed + new ecu) and it worked without any problems.
I Don´t think that is immo problem. But try to make new match as Admin described...

Hey
Does anyone have a wiring diagram for this model. Transit 2,4 duratorq 125hp 2004 mod. Especially sections for fuelpump, pcm and immobiliser?

I finally got a new pump and the engine runs properly. The only thing is that the engine needs a lot of cranking before it starts. Anyone got any idea?

Have checed out air in fuel and all pipings from the fueltank.
When I crank the engine there is a lot of smoke behind and when engine starts it smells like uncombusted fuel.
Maybe it can be a injector problem. If injectors are bleeding and lets in fuel too early and at too low pressure which will result in no combustion? Anyone got any experience like this?
