Recording MAF and Injector Readings

Post by ebo555 »

Hi,

I have a Ford Galaxy 2.2. Ghia and while it works pretty well, it does suffer from a (what seems to be quite common with this model) engine hesititation/stutter between 1500 and 2000 revs. It's not a huge problem but is annoying!

What I'd like to do is to monitor the MAF sensor and injectors with FORScan as I drive, so that I can get an idea of what is occurring - my question is, what (range of) readings would be recognised as being acceptable/within tolerance for both the MAF and the injectors? Is there any partiular behaviour I should be looking out for, which may indicate a problem?

Are there other obvious PIDs I should monitor?

Any ideas or guidance will be very welcome.

Cheers,

Ebo.

Looking for the same reference information in the internet I found that in most cars there usually exists specific PID called MAF_DESIRED which shows values PCM expects to see from MAF in current driving conditions.
You may compare these two PIDs and see whether they are similar. As I understand DESIRED value should be close to actual readings or less for 5-15%. Typical problem with MAF being lower than MAF_DESIRED will be clearly seen.
For injectors there may also be similar PID.
