Suddenly Can't Connect: CAN ERROR: 3 ( 8.1% )

I think I might have an intermittent electrical problem. I went out today to try and figure out why I was getting crank but no spark, and unable to connect to the ecu, and the car started right up and I connected to the ecu with no problem. I read a 0113 DTC from the computer, which can be either an IAT sensor problem or an ECU problem. I found a partially torn wire from the IAT and an going to pick up a new connector and splice it in tomorrow, but I don't think that would cause a no start and an inability to communicate with the ECU... I'll keep this updated as things develop.
