I have ordered obd2 adapter Vgate iCar2 Wifi version for my Ford Galaxy MKIII, MY2008, 2.2TDCi, 129kW.
Can you please let me know if this adapter is able to switch to MS-CAN?

This adapter is showing all over aliexpress and amazon, and should be the same as OBDLink MX...
But there is no info what chip is integrated in the adapter.
have this a STN chip as in the OBDLink or CCY adapters?

Hi all,
I just got this program on my laptop, and looking to use it I need to buy a compatible adapter for my car. So are all this above still applicable? What is and where can I get for an affordable amount a compatible adapter for my Ford Fusion 2011?

Also made the mistake of purchasing a cheap, $5., chinese ELM327 clone from eBay to use with FORScan and my 2014 Ford Escape. It has V1.5A on the label but uses an old Prolific PL-2303 chip. It may load the adapter in Windows 7 with the old drivers but not in Windows 10 that uses newer drivers. When you connect the adapter and check device manager you will see a yellow exclamation point next to Prolific USB-to-serial Comm port. You have to downgrade the driver to an earlier version. You can get the older driver from here: http://www.totalcardiagnostics.com/supp ... 2-software In step 1 choose Windows 8, 10 and download Driver Pack 5. After installing the older driver FORScan saw the adapter on COM 3 but when I hooked it up to my Escape, key and/or engine on, I got the dreaded "Unable to connect to vehicle. Please make sure the ignition key is ON and try again". I contacted the ebay vendor, expecting to be blown off, but he was kind enough to refund me the 5 bucks. It may work with another vehicle but not with a newer Ford Escape. Local bookkeeping services from company Your Books On Time. Another cheap chinese ELM327 clone.

FTDI updated Windows' drivers: http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm

So I'm going to give the bbfly-BF32301 adapter a try and will report back with the results.

OBDLINK is having a great black Friday deal on the EX. $33.95. Just thought Id let you all know. I know Im grabbing one just because its faster than my MX and it never hurts to have an extra.

OBDLINK EX appears to be providing add'l IDS /VCM (Bosch) like functionality as it now simultaneously handles the various medium and high speed busses/protocols Ford uses (MS-CAN and HS-CAN). Previous adapters used a "manual" toggle across these busses.

Boy this sure got complicated, I would gladly spend 100 bucks just to get the correct one from the get go. Im pretty sure I have a dud even after being somewhat successful as to some changes. Trying to save a few bucks is going to cost me double, I cant afford to buy cheap.
