How to program PATS using FORScan v2.3.*

I have a Ford Galaxy 2006 car. I have lost the spare key. I have bought a chinese key fob with 4d63 80bit transponder. Forscan recognizes it. I programmed the second key. The action was "succesfull", but the numbers of the keys was not increased and the car do not start (with the second key).

So, what is the problem? Transponder? ELM327? Forscan? ...

It seems there is a problem with transponder. Try to use 4D63 40Bit.

Thanks, but all the sources on the net say, that 2007 Galaxy uses 4D63 80 bit, so I am confused.

If you have other 80bit transponder you can check it out or try with 40bit. I think it worth to check.

I See From the Images you posted that in a couple of your images your Galaxy's PATS procedure does not have an entry for "Spare Key Programming" Enabled!

This may be why you are getting a successful key program but no key count increase and a no start condition as this may be one of the PATS systems in which spare keys cannot be added through "Ignition Key Programming"!

As i understand it, from the first post in this thread as per this: ("Note: some models for Australian and American markets have no stand-alone Ignition Key programming function. The function is available in the PATS menu but PATS doesn't support it. So on these models it is not possible to add a key to the PATS memory. The only way is to use Erase and Program keys function (added in FORScan v2.2.5). This function erases all keys and switches PATS to a special learning mode. In this mode user can program 2 keys one by one.")

I suspect that the Spare enabled entry has been removed since, on systems which do not support it!

Your images do show an entry for this procedure!

Apparently it may be that keys can only be added, on Pats systems without the Spare Key entry, by executing the "Ignition Key Erase" Procedure and then re programming all keys back in starting with the original and then any spares you wish to add!

That you are getting a B10D07 Code and the keys do program successful but the key count and start ability does not change, says that the keys are being read and written to and if the car is not starting now it would seem that there is nothing to loose by trying!

Just an observation and it may be all wrong!

As per this topic: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=17250: Specifically points 7 and 8! From 2012MY on European vehicles and North American from 2015MY PATS programming coded access is Dealer Login or NASTF Licensed Locksmith only!

More web pages says that it is rather 80 bit, than 40 bit.

An what is really weird, I get in Forscan B10D07 code, so I think the transponder may be good. I have ordered an another transponder from Aliexpress, I shall try with it.

Is it possible to get B10D07:51 code, and the transponder is faulty/bad?

Your original post suggested that the Car was not starting at all with any keys; Sorry!

I have only seen that Key count error personally when I have added a key with an identical signature to one already in PATS memory but the Third one started the vehicle because it was a third key and the two already in memory where valid with different signatures so PATS sees the Second and Third key as the same key!

Without "Spare key programming enabled" in the PATS menu, I am suspicious that trying to add keys into memory with the key programming menu will not add another key successfully! That procedure was designed to program at least two keys into memory after the key erase procedure has been run.

Have had no experience with trying to add them through the key programming menu link as all three of my vehicles have the Spare Key Enabled and the Spare Key Add link in the menu and so I have always used that for adding keys into memory.
