Has anyone tried unplugging the button for stop/start? I have heard that will disable. I was able to turn off in my 2019 edge, but haven’t heard how to in a 2020 Corsair....

This did NOT work on a 2021 Transit Cargo AWD.

This DID work on a 2017 Ford F150 XLT.

since ive had my focus the stop/start has never worked , if you want to do what i did then go to the gearbox on the end behind the 5th gear extension of the gearbox their is a sensor , remove the sensor then remove the cover (will need to be cut off carefully , their is a wavey piece of metal in it ,make this either short or longer by placing some wire around it and then replace the cap using some silcone to keep it water tight ) , after this you will get no warning or anything saying it is disabled but stop/start should no longer work as it can no longer get the correct reading from the sensor so it will never stop the engine ;D
i am the same as you just a forscan user still learning .
The search function is there for a reason use it.
no you can no longer pm me with your 1 or 0 posts so dont try.

Frequent asked question, but is there still no solution available when BCM don't have the correct codes available?
Looking for an option for our Transit Custom '16.

Sorry for the late reply.
thanks for bringing the Forscan info to the Bronco Sport Forum. I have a badlands edition, and trying to understand this before I do anything else.
my IPC value is 720-01-01 CC0E 3264 7009 I'f I follow what you've done I'd just change the 3 in 3264 to 1264 and the rest remains unchanged (XXXX) This should disable the auto start stop? I notice others are using BCMii 726... ... does it matter?

and reading is fundamental...apparently this part simply disabled the message. I need the BCM 726-48-02 x0xx xxxx xx to actually change or disable it.I'm guessing I either need something different or I am unable to disable. My range of 726 ranges 01-01 to 28-01

Any head way made on the Bronco Sport with this? Obviously, the BCM configuration is different from the F150 and the Bronco Sport. What block needs to be modified on the 2021 BS? Thanks!

Hi Airborne,

I have tried to do the opposite on a Fiesta Mk8. I mean that I tried to put a start stop function aftermarket (also installed the relative start stop button H1BT-11B573-BC.

I actually activated all the start stop voices on:
PCM - Auto start stop - Enabled
APIM - Auto start stop - Enabled
BdyCM - Auto start stop - Enabled
HVAC - Auto start stop - Enabled
IPC - Auto start stop - Enabled

All this without any success.

I then had a look at your post, to understand if maybe on the build sections of BdyCM I might have modified the parameters you changed, but on Fiesta (and I believe also Focus and EcoSport) there is no BCM 726-48-02. It ends around BCM 726-26-xx.

Anyone else who tried to do the same or has any idea what could I do?

Many thanks everyone

All I can say is I figured it out on my 2017 F150 and it hasn't exploded yet.

Try at your own risk:

To summarize, I think a 100% auto stop/start disable would look something like this (I left my IPC stop/start message center enabled so I can still monitor it):

BCM 726-48-02 x0xx xxxx xx

FCIM 7A7-01-01 xxxx x0xx xx (optional - disables switch)
IPC 720-01-01 xxxx 1xxx xx (optional - disables stop/start message center on 2017 F150)

Please confirm if you encounter positive results in other Ford: vehicles, trim or model years.

With all due respect, I wonder why would you like to active start/stop system? It hurts your car in many ways just to potentially have maybe 0,01 l/100km lower fuel consumption... You'll most probably be sorry later, but that is only my opinion :)

I would say that start/stop is not only a matter of button and software. As far as I know, there is at least different battery management/charging with possibly additional hardware - there is one additional wire to battery in start/stop cars that is obvious in first sight. Further, normal batteries are not suitable, you need at least EFB or AGM otherwise your battery will die much sooner.

To disable auto start-stop definitively on a focus mk3.5, just disable the function in BCM (Central configuration), and IPC. That´s it. It gives you a always running engine without erros.

You can´t disable in PCM, if you do you have to press the clutch and brake pedals to start engine instead of pressing only clutch.
