2012 Explorer Sync2 already dead, open for testing

My Sync2 over the past year would occasionally not start up right away with the truck start and say "performing scheduled updates" and eventually take me to the normal screen. Over time, it would happen more and more often, sometimes not starting at all for a good 3 or 4 minutes before showing "performing scheduled updates" and booting up. Recently, it would only actually work maybe 1 day out of 2 or 3 weeks. If I do an APIM module test, it comes back as passing and no errors found. recently, i tried applying factory as-bult data, then even defaulted the screen which removed all uploaded background files just incase an uploaded image was causing a problem. So far it has yet to boot back up for me to see anything meaning the factory default through the screen and the as-built didnt fix anything. All of this seemed to start happening when I ran the Sync2 updates via USB.
I already ordered another APIM off Ebay so if I try anything on the existing APIM, its already shot and i dont care, so if someone needs me to test something to try to unbrick this, or rewrite something, im open to it. I would not mind seeing if we are able to bring it back. It seems like the Sync2 system is Flash running on top of WindowsCE.
