2009 ka connection issue

Morning all hope you can help, im trying to connect to a 2009 ka, it keeps saying unable to connect to car make sure the ignition is on, i can connect with delphi no problems so its not the car and iv tried it on my transit and it connects fine, do i need the extended subscription for it to work
