Hi....

I am new in this with Forscan so maybe i am doing something wrong. I have a faulty Rear Proximity Sensor error on the dash and i am trying to identify which of the 4 sensor is faulty. I will try to pinpoint which is faulty using PID.

I have read that the Parking Assist Module (PAM) is located inside of the Body Control Module (BCM) but it doesn't appear on my list neither with the search function. I neither have a error code when i read the DTC but i get an error on the Dash of Rear Parking Aid revision.

I am using Windows Laptop with OBDLink EX dongle with Forscan version 2.3.60.

Appreciate your advice and thanks in advance.

If it’s the old type sensors, when you put your ear right up against them you can hear them audibly clicking/ticking if they work. The broken ones don’t make any noise. But also more modern ones don’t click audibly at all.

As for FORScan, you may wanna update to the latest version of as I see yours appears to be an older version.

As for the module it could be either way, could have an independant Pam or it could be incorporated into another as you suggest. You may wanna try connecting to the car without loading a vehicle profile, that way it will talk to all the modules again instead of loading historical data.

I would also go check all the fuses quickly, if the module is down for lack of power nothing will find it or be able to communicate with it.

Unfortunately we don’t have that vehicle of that year in this country so Autodata here doesn’t list where you Pam is.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Will give it a try tommorow and report back but definitively there is no audible sound coming from either of the 4 and maybe i am wrong but have the 4 dead all at once seems weird.

Thanks once again.

Dont know your specific model, but most PAMs on Fords are located in the rear or boot area, usually behind the L/H or R/H side trims. But some models do indeed utilise the BCM rather then a seperate PAM so you really need a wiring diagram to check, if yours has active park assist its most likely seperate.
If all 4 sensors stopped working together i'd be inclined to think either wiring issue or the PAM itself, try doing a self test see if it flags any DTCs, also sensors use a common +12v and Ground but individual sensor wires, check the connectors for water damage too and shorts to the body from schaffing

On 2011 Explorer, the PAM module is in the right rear quarter panel, fuse 34 in the BCM powers it
If it doesn't show up on Forscan Its dead or communication line have a problem

Trying to bump this as i still have the problem.

In order to maybe be more clear with my situation now i don't have any error code but still don't work.

Went to the BCM module and to PAM but seems that the sensors are integrated in the PAM so i can't restart that specific item in order to see if that resolves the issue.

If this helps what i find weird is that if i go to the Dash Cluster i can turn off the Proximity feature but when i turn it On it is not selected. It is like the Computer is not recognizing that it has that feature.

Appreciate any insight you guys can give me and thanks in advance.
