Hi could do with some help,Ford transit 2008 immoboliser light flashing engine not start or crank
Fault code set B10D7-51 Bought new key tried to program keys ,pats starts but only goes to first step and stops
I think it does not regonise key both the same
If I try to erase keys to try reprogram keys in it same fault, not erase keys

Could someone help with how the pats system operates on 2008 transit ?
Is the pats module part of the key reader? Is there any fuses to check
Or is the pats module somewhere else I know the pats has to communicate with ,Engine, bcm, instrument to work
I have programmed keys to transits before , but never seen that fault code before
Tried s/h key reader same fault How would I check for power etc to Key reader what does the pins do

Hey Joe, yes I would check all fuses in the van even the ones that don't say they are for what your looking for. Often modules have fuses with no info offered as to what they do.

Pats is integrated into other modules, typically bcm, ipc etc.
So communication with these needs to work.

If you have new keys and they are aftermarket then be very careful about erasing all keys as not all aftermarket keys work and once you've hit erase and it does it you can't go back.

When no keys are programmed you need two keys in order to complete key programming and both of these keys must be guaranteed to work or you can't start the vehicle.
Hence you wanna add a key not erase unless your using dealer keys maybe.

Fault code b10d7-51 means keys not programmed. They won't start until keys are programmed. Key is either not programmed or transponder doesn't work.

Well checked 4 different keys 1 new key,1from working car, 2 s/h from breakers none will program
Sometimes code B 10D7-51-08 will apear ( key not programmed) but it can be cleared . WhenI get that code I was thinking Pat must be able to read key
Tried diffrent key reader
on ign switch fault still present The 4 wires have ,ign on red/yell 11 .6 volts,blach = 0 volts , yell/brown 0 volts,purple/gray 6.4 volts
Would like a diagram showing where they connect to bcm so I could check out if wiriing fault
Fault cde now showing = B10D7-94 when fitted-0A

Meantime I have ordered s/hand bcm to see if it will program keys

I would check the network and key reader somehow. Then go for the wiring. There are only so many reasons why it will fail to program a key or refuse.
There is a limit to how many keys can be programmed.
If the light is flashing is the vehicle in a state of alarm? As if it is you'll have to wait for that to stop before it'll let you program.

If your managing to connect forscan to the vehicle, there are no faults showing for pats related systems, you can gain security access to pats and begin a chosen procedure then it could well be a module problem.

How many keys currently show as programmed?

When im at the laptop later I'll look for the wiring diagram in autodata for you.

still waiting on S/H body controller to arrive

I would like if possible the wiring diagram you said you have ( from key reader to bcm if the bcm does not work )

That's no problem. Unfortunately the vin doesn't tell me anything. I need either the engine code (not engine number) or the registration number if uk so I can get engine code off of that. Autodata needs to code to identify the right diagrams.

There's 11 different engine codes for the 2.2

I just tried a few of the different engine codes and it didn't have much for wiring diagrams for that year/model.
You might be better off asking on the transit forum for the diagrams as it's more specific to the vehicle your working on?
