Forscan is amazing first off. Already was able to change a few things like double honk when getting out of truck with key fib while truck is running. looking for maybe a little guidance for what I should try next to figure out how to fix my current problem ? Problem we ordered with led lights and it did not come with them. My dad didn't realize when he picked it up. Long story short dealer gave us the lights and we ended up replacing the whole engine harness with one for a truck with led headlights. Everything works perfect except when truck is running. Running lights go out, headlights start to flicker, high beams don't leave all 4 lights on like ther are suppose to etc. The Bcm of both a truck with and without led are identical part numbers and says needs to be programmed. dealership giving us the run around saying they tried to do it but it didn't work then stated they talked to engineering and they said they can't do blah blah.

Maybe I'm way off but if I used a vin from a truck that had led and got the as built files from ford site for the BCM. I could try to load them to truck (would that potentially work ?) Or any other ideas would be greatly appreciated. Sorry for the long post. currently truck has BCM codes because of this

Thank you very much for anyone's help, Shaun

I'm sorry I can't help you but I am interested in doing the same swap. I have the wiring all figured out but I'm sure that the BCM will need to be programmed to allow proper operation just as you suggested. I'd be happy to help in any way I can, I also own a Ford IDS. I experimented with aftermarket led replacement bulbs and found the same results, with the engine off everything works perfect but with the engine running blinking and lights going out. I think its an easy fix if we can get the code figured out. Using the IDS I have turned off all of the lamp monitoring settings that I found and while it did fix the hyper blinking turn signals it did not help with the headlamp problem. Just for the record I am running the latest version of the BCM software for my truck as of last week. It has been updated twice already with my February built truck.

Great to hear. So it sounds like dealer isn't messing with us saying they don't know how to program the Bcm Also to let you know on the factory harness swap it is quite involved. It comes with the whole fuse block and engine harness. It was a 15-20 hrs process. What do you think about trying to copy an As built file from the ford site for a truck the came with factory led in it ?

I'm not going to change the harness, I have compared schematics, all of the wires I need outside of 2 are there so I will splice in new connectors and run the 2 additional wires needed and the wiring is set. As for the as built data I have an XLT and the trucks that come with the led lights are top of the line so I would think that there are many changes so I'm not sure if that will work in my case but I am going to experiment when the parts come in

I understand. This truck is a lariat with all the options except the led lights so maybe it will work inn my case. Guess I will have to exsperiment.

why not just fit the anti flicker / can canceller units at like £2 each just plug and play .

Recently I switched from halogen bulbs to LED bulbs with the canbus adapters on my fiance's 2013 escape (worth the effort, much safer light to drive with). All I had to do was change out the bulbs with the new LED ones And plug the factory harness into each of them then once I moved the car a few feet they would shut off on low beam fault. I monkied with the headlamp type setting and changed it from the halogen option to the xenon option. They've worked great since. I'm getting the feeling you may have been able to avoid some of this headache. By going through that procedure, however my recommendation would be to maybe change the settings a few times and see if the bcm behaves differently with the bulbs. However, if I'm not mistaken you may have to have the antiflicker/canbus adapters anyways.
