ECT not reading
ECT not reading
Hi have just started using Forscan and have found it informative. I am using ELM327 with usb connection an ms/hs can switch on a 2012 Ford Falcon LPI Automatic. I have found all all the information so far with tcm that i currently need but still exploring what i can and cant read.what I have found in the tcm is you list one pid for engine temp ect obd2 from memory and transmission fluid temp TFT. While monitoring them and other pids the transmission temp does show what i expect to be correct temp goes up up as the car warms up to around 93 deg but engine temp just sits on -40deg and does not alter but if i go to the pcm there are 3 different engine temp pids including the one shown in the tcm as well as transmission temp pid When monitoring the pcm pids the 3 engine temps all work and read the same the trans temp just shows error. My question is why doesn't the tft and ect both work at same time in either the TCM orPCM.This program may not have the fancy dash board as other but I find this a very good program otherwise as it has alot more useful information congratulation on a job well done with limited resources
Re: ECT not reading
If we understand properly, you have the following
When you read PIDs from TCM module, TFT is displayed fine but ECT always -40 deg. This may mean the ECT PID in TCM is not really connected (TCM "knows" the PID but in reality no signal from sensor is coming to TCM). If so, this is not a problem of FORScan.
When your read PIDs from PCM module, ECT are displayed properly but TFT shows "Error". If so it may mean some bug in FORScan. You can send us internal FORScan logs for detailed analysis (Instruction is on Contact Us page of the site).
