Hi folks,

I'm working on my Dad's 2003 Mazda MX-5 Miata (US model). I believe it is classified as a NB2 Miata.

When I connect to it with my OBDLink EX USB adapter, it only gives me the OBDII interface and the PCM as module options. There's no service procedures or other modules detected. It seems ...

I finally sent in my debug info as well, so hopefully that will assist in finding and resolving this issue.

A few things I saw in the logs that were interesting:

In the firmware update log window, when starting the APIM Firmware Update procedure, I see:

"Module firmware update has been started ...

Has anyone here with an unofficially updated SYNC unit to version 3.4 successfully updated their APIM with a "current" version of FORScan ? Just trying to pinpoint the issue, if it ...

Is the debug log in the Forscan directory ? I don't know for sure if it will log any error as it does not seem to encounter any... it just does not detect any available version.

Interesting, I still couldn't see the updates on my Fusion using 2.4.2. I installed "over" 2.4.1 instead of uninstalling and reinstalling, however. Can I ask how you updated to 2.4.2?

I understand that you are aware of the issue of not being able to update the APIM firmware on Sync 3 systems if the Sync software has been updated to 3.4 using the hacked/cracked updater.

I was wondering, as I am experiencing this issue, if I can provide any information to ...

I'll chime in that my 2017 Fusion Sport running Sync 3.4 (with the Sony audio, but no nav) also has the same issue with no APIM update found.

Has anyone downgraded back to Sync 3.2 and been able to upgrade the APIM?

If there's any more information I can provide to help the devs find the issue here ...
