2016 Ford Edge Remote Start climate control greyed out

Didn't see this anywhere else, so...

I had a Canadian 2016 Ford Edge with the complaint that the Climate Control and Heated Seats options greyed out, effectively disabled so RS would only start the engine and the cabin air and heated seats would not turn on until the driver physically pushed the Start button.

IPC 720-02-02 has F9 in the config (vs FD for a reference 2019 Ford Edge), BCM configs were as expected with a functional factory remote start.

Solution was FCIM 7A7-01-02 xxxx x*xx xxxx changed to 2 from 0.

"SSM 47251 – 2015-2018 Edge/2016-2018 MKX – Remote Start Selections Grayed Out For Heated Steering Wheel/Heated Seats

Some 2015-2018 Edge and 2016-2018 MKX vehicles may exhibit a concern with the remote start selections for heated steering wheel and/or heated seats grayed out in the cluster.

To correct this concern, reconfigure the front controls interface module (FCIM) using As-Built Programming.

Make sure you are connected to the internet when entering module programming to obtain the latest data.

If the concern is still present, refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 501-10A for the directed self-test for the FCIM.

For claiming, use causal part 18842 and applicable labor operations in Section 11 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.

Newbie here- When I change from 0 to 2 I get a checksum error- is there something else that needs to be changed for this fix to work? 2015 Edge, original line 7A7-01-02 0008-0000-00B9
