2008 Sport Trac Instrument cluster

Post by alan71 »

Was able to read the DTC's and connection seems fine, but when I wan to initilze the new IC it stops at 31 percent each time. I cannot install the replacement cluster without reinitializing the Cluster. Tried to just do pats, but that too failed.

I must be ding something wrong. Am using windows 10 with the LX cable.
Update: used the wifi adapter and was able to program 2keys with old instrument cluster but cannot program new cluster.
Will continue to attempt erase keys and reprogram the keys back in.
This is really bring on the suck factor.

do you care to go into details of what the problem was?

I have a 2010 Sport Trac Adrenalin, 4.6, AWD, and I want to reprogram the cluster to change from 1 speed 'AWD' drivetrain configuration to the 2 speed '4x4' programming like the Limited and other non-Adrenalin package models have.

basically Ford sold the Adrenalin package with the same 4x4 transfer case, but just programmed the IC to not allow people to shift the transfer case into low range like the 4x4 models and called it AWD. I want to reprogram my cluster to be like the 4x4 models so I can use the low range in my transfer case...

Any tips you care to share would be appreciated, I'm really new to this...
