Viewing current SOC...

Post by MoreBloodWine »

I'm ignorant to the app in that I don't know much, if anything but can get by w good (step by step) instruction.

Long story short...

1) Added a red top to a 2020 Edge, replacing what I assume was the factory battery in Jan of this yr.
2) Googled best I could how to reset the battery system stuff as I knew it was needed when tossing in a new battery... didn't have my portable system, so this was the clicky method as I'm calling it.
3) Google info seems to have been valid as the battery icon flashed when the cycle was otherwise complete.
4) I have my reasons, don't ask unless u really want to rabbit hole shit w me... but not totally convinced it worked bec some dash light blinked.
5) Anyway, how can I verify the current SOC which I was last informed I think resets around 85% or some shit, I forget ?

If I'm to assume I replaced a factory battery, the previous SOC woulda been like ~50% or some shit. So if I can verify the current SOC w Forscan is 80% or higher, I'll know my prev reset worked that didn't involve the app.

But ya, how if at all do I use Forscan to view the current SOC ?

Plz be specific, I have an auto switching tool and can navigate stuff fine if I know / can get told what to do.

Ty.

Calling it at night and while I will admit I may be mixing 2 or 3 different things and confusing myself and others, I really don't know.

I really just want to confirm if possible through forscan, if the reset to the battery system since I replaced my battery worked. Call me crazy for not necessarily wanting to trust a light on my dash that blinked bec I clicked this and twisted that or whatever it was lol

Basically I wanna make sure I'm taking care of & getting the best out of fhe red top I tossed in, replacing what I believe was the OG battery.

In all honesty it may be fine, but I would rather the peace of mind and not just necessarily this.

Haven't driven in a few days but did run idle for a few hrs while.i ran wire.

Nm, I can't post 435kb bec of some quota thing.

Not sure if FORScan has what your looking for but if it doesn’t I guess it may be in live data for engine or whatever module deals with the battery. As for the quota problem if you delete old attachments you can make new ones, had that problem myself.
