Programe new key

I have just programmed a new key for my 2020 Ford transit custom, 2liter.
Bought this used van couple of months back and it only came with on key, this was fine until i realised i would be in big trouble if i lost this key.
fishing around on the net i realised i needed forscan on my win11 laptop, Tried programming with just the 2month licence and it dont work. What you need is full 1 year licence and a good spare key to be programmed. I chose this key https://www.keyecu.com/aftermarket-remo ... p4450.html This key was programmed and works like the 1 and only original key that cam with van. Forscan confirms my key count is now 3 keys, up from 2. I used the section on foscan that allowed me to programme a spare key.

Thanks for the info, someone has just been asking me for the same on their 2018 custom and I wasn’t sure if this would do it.

To program a 2018 Ford Transit Custom key, ensure all doors are closed, then: open the driver's side door, turn the ignition from "OFF" to "RUN" eight times within 10 seconds; if successful, the door locks will cycle - quickly press any button on the key fob you want to program within 8 seconds to complete the process; repeat for additional key fobs if needed.
