I am seeking user feedback on the Ford Territory (Aus version) ABS service bleed.
The ESC/ABS system in this car is Bosch v8.
I did a silly think - at least I think I did - when I replaced the rotors and pads I sucked too much fluid from the master cylinder (to allow the pistons to be pushed back without master cylinder overflow). ie I let in air.
I cannot get the air out the system now. The car is drivable but I can feel the air in the system.
I have attempted to use the ABS service bleed and had strange results. Only two corners of the car has ABS activation with fluid flow from the calliper bleed points - the other two corners no ABS activation and no fluid flow.
The popup instructions states press brake pedal but not how hard or how many times. I have tried fully depressed brake pedal and no brake pedal depression.
I now know fully depressed is bad - this blocks all fluid flow from the master cylinder.
The short two questions are:
For this vehicle - is the ABS service bleed only expected to activate the ABS on two corners only
and
What position should the brake pedal be in during this test.
Territory (Aus) is ABS service function working in v2.3.66

See if this will help you.

Scroll down to :
To properly bleed the ABS system on a Ford Falcon BA using FORScan, you'll need the FORScan software, an OBD2 adapter, and a helper to operate the brake pedal. The process involves using FORScan to activate the ABS pump and solenoids while you manually bleed the brakes at each wheel. This ensures that any trapped air within the ABS module is also purged.
I got a XR6 Turbo MK2 ...See if actuating the ABS Pump a few times with Forscan brings back some of the pressure before you open the bleeders on each wheel.

Thanks,
Really just an FYI. My testing has shown that:
Really just an FYI. My testing has shown that:
- there is no option to select what corner to bleed - there is only one process that bleeds all four corners.
- the ABS pump is only activated on the right front and right rear tests, left front and left rear no activation at all. Noting the Territory is right hand drive.
