After changing turn bulb to led faster blinking

Post by DerErkster »

hello,
I have a Ford Tourneo Connect from 2014.

Now I changed the rear turn bulbs to led. After that when I turn on left or right tun indicator.
all 3 lights are blinking faster like when one bulb is broken.
Can I change it so that the lights are blinking normal ?
In the normal paramaters I found nothing. And the others are only letters and numbers with no description and I will not change the wrong.

Can somehelp me to fix the problem ?

Maybe. If your vehicle had the option of LED bulbs there should be a setting in the BCM to disable bulb outage. It could be listed as LF, RF, LR and RR bulb outage. If there were no vehicle options between standard and LED you are probably out of luck. In that case the only option would be resistors to emulate standard bulbs.

LED's don't draw enough power so the computer thinks they are broken. As above, ypu can fool them into thinking bulbs are still there.

Firstly as advised led use much less current then filament bulbs, therefore flas much faster as if bulb blown. You can put a resistor in place diff wattage bulbs need diff resstor size or you can buy them on ebay sowcificalky for led bulbs.
Be aware most modern Fords us a PMW on their BCMs to increase bulb longevity, this takes the form of a pulse in the power whilst this is great for filament bulbs its not so good for LEDs as they see the pulse, worst case shorted their life expectancy, best case you will see the bulb flickering.
Also you can turn this off in Forscan but you have a problem if some filament bulbs remain on the corcuit.
So really its all or nothing ie on lighting you should change both fronts or both rears as a pair, for flashers all at same time with resistors or eliminators.

We've been discussing this on a Yamaha motorcycle forum and technically, separate load resistors are not required if you can find LED turn signal bulbs that fit and have integral resistors. Here are a couple examples that fit our Yamahas, a little searching may reveal something that works specifically in your vehicle:
