PATS not showing up in forscan

Post by 89coltgt »

Hello all new to the forum,

Just bought a used 2018 Ford ecosport 2.0L titanium and the auto start stop and seatbelt dinger were what got me started I was able to successfully disable them and change a few other things like Bambi mode etc, however I went to program a new key because the car only came with one key and the PATS programming is not available, I thought ok maybe it was because I only had the “trial” license so I purchased an extended license and Still no pats programming is available

Any ideas what could be going on?

I tried to post a picture but it’s saying a 1.7mb full is too big

Is this for a physical turn key to start or a push button start smart key system?

I thought PATS was a function, not a separate module. Older Fords had PATS in the IPC and then it moved to the BCM.

It is likely that PATS is not available for this vehicle in FORScan as of yet! If it was available it would show up in the Service procedures under the Module that holds PATS control(Usually either the IPC or the BCM) in later model lines and Intelligent access PATS has Also been controlled in a module called Remote Function Actuator or RFA!
A look at your modules tab may or may not locate an RFA module on the network tree!

The video Image you posted appears to be from a vehicle with Central Configuration(BCMii(Main) and IPC(Backup) although I was under the impression the Mondeo was not C.C) in which PATS programming may be in the Engineering modes under the BCMii(Main)! The Screen is also from a very (almost 10 versions) old FORScan Version!

Your Echo Sport does not appear to be a C.C. vehicle so it appears that PATS is not available or not yet stable working for this vehicle for The team to include it in the service procedures(If it was stable working and available it would be a service procedure in the Wrench icon under a module, likely the BCM or IPC)!

Pats programming in FORScan, after about 2013 would have required a paid license in any case! The Process will likely require access to an online code server at FORScan(Likely the reason it is not yet available as this vehicle is not in their Code database yet) in order to provide an in code to the vehicles out code!
Ford started moving all PATS programming to a Coded and NASTF certified Locksmith PAID login code server(Must have a NASTF Paid license to access the Codes starting in 2012 in Euro markets and 2014 in N.A markets)!

FORScan has been working on their own FORScan Paid license Code server and not all model lines have been added to the servers as of yet!
Intelligent access(Push Button start) vehicles have always been a thorn in the Side for PATS development in FORScan even before Fords move!

See this Change log to check for your vehicle: https://forscan.org/changes_history.html !
FORScan Online PAID PATS went online for the first set of vehicles as of version 2.3.56!

The team may not be getting enough data on this model line to develop a stable Working Version of PATS and if you submit your Files they may send you a Test version of the next FORScan version(with PATS enabled) for you to test if PATS works!
It is up to you, but if you do email your files and get a test version, make sure you send any files back after testing if it does not work and even if it works for you so the team can work on improving the process!

See Below on how to submit your files! At the least they can tell you if it is even being worked on and how long before they release it (Be very surprised if it is not being worked on)!

If you wish to ask the team about PATS for the Echo Sport line follow the instructions at this link: https://forscan.org/contactus.html#debug_info, Support email just above the Debug Instructions heading!

Hope that answers some of your questions?

Well that sounds about right , I would pick a car that is not “popular” enough lol.

I had no problem paying for the license because of the time and effort put into the program and I am glad there is people that are willing to do these things for us, Hell just being able get rid of the the auto start stop and the seat belt dinger was Worth the license fee!

I’ll continue to keep checking on it and I think I will submit whatever files and information they may need to help the process along

Thank you for the help and information
