Powerstroke Diesel Support

Post by Shawnf350 »

Will Forscan support and recognize a 1996 and up F350 with the Powerstroke Diesel 7.3l?
I know they are OBD1 but use the OBD2 communications identical to OBD2.

FORScan was able to read 1999 F-350. Not sure about 1996 but believe it should read it as well. OBD2 compliance is not criticial, it is only important if the vehicle supports SAEJ1850 PWM (Ford SCP) protocol: there must be pins 2 and 10 in the OBD jack.

Hey, that thread is 9 years old. These days the forscan team don't usually monitor posts throughout the forum and respond to them. You'll probably find out quicker just making a new thread as there are plenty users with us trucks.
