Focus 1.0 2014 crank, but it doesn't start

Hello!

The car: Ford Focus 1.0 Ecoboost 125hp 2014

I need some help. There is no error code, the engine cranks but doesn’t start. The timing is in place, and the crankshaft signal is good. What I noticed is that ENG_CRANK remains inactive while cranking. Has anyone encountered this issue before? Does anyone know what activates the ENG_CRANK bit?

It's not visible in the image, but there is another bit, KEY_START, which switches when cranking.

Have you checked for cam signal? It needs that also to start because it don't know which cylinder fire first otherwise.

Hi a bit of a late reply but hope it helps someone. I had similar non start problem after working on 1.0 ecoboost engine. There are various multi plugs on the left hand side of the rocker cover as you look at the engine from the front of the car. Two of the multi plugs can accidentally be plug into the incorrect sensor. The length of the wiring harness allows this to happen. On closer inspection you can see if they are the wrong way around because the wiring does look a little bit incorrectly routed compared to when they are plugged into the correct sensors.

Hve seen the same on bmw with the two vvt solenoid plugs the wrong way round. It started but ran like sh*t.
