FORD EXPLORER EV

Post by rloverar »

Hi. I have a Ford Explorer EV 2024 (286hp 77kwh) and a vLinker FS Bluetooth adapter, I'm using the ForScan Lite version for Android, but: I can't establish a connection between the FordScan app and the vehicle. The logs initially show a connection, but then display a message saying "CONNECTION CANNOT BE ESTABLISHED. PLEASE VERIFY THAT THE VEHICLE IS ON." I've already checked all of that, but it won't connect. I've tried all three Bluetooth settings (0, 1, and 2) and haven't been able to establish a connection.

Could someone please help me? It's a 100% electric vehicle.

pd: Please excuse my mistakes in English, but I am Spanish and only speak Spanish; I used a translator.

Hi there, your vehicle may or may not be on the compatible vehicles list. You may wanna check this.
If I understand you correctly then you have no issue connecting forscan to your phone, but are having issues connecting forscan to the car.
If your car isn't on the list then you can contact forscan support and ask if they can add it.

Compatibility ~ https://forscan.org/support/start.php?l ... ct_id=fsla

Some connectivity info ~ https://forscan.org/support/show_conten ... ct_vehicle

There is a contact them link in here somewhere. Cant remember where it is at the minute lol.

I think the link to compatible vehicles isn't working, or my car isn't on the list. How can I contact FordScan to get my vehicle added? Please remember that I'm Spanish and I use a translator, and I'm new to forums. Thanks.

From the FORScan website:

Error "Unable to connect to vehicle. Please make sure the ignition key is ON and try again"

The error means that FORScan has successfully connected to the adapter, but for some reason hasn't received any response from the vehicle PCM. This is normal situation if the ignition is OFF or in ACC position instead of ON/Run, so FORScan advises to check the ignition. If the ignition is ON, possible reasons are:

• Only for CAN vehicles: if you use an adapter with mechanical HS/MS switch, the switch may be in the wrong MS position. PCM is always on HS-CAN, so the switch must be in HS position at the moment of connect. Attention: it is not recommended to use adapters with HS/MS switch for new cars. Recommended adapters switch between buses in automated way and don't require any user's attention.

• Bad contact of the adapter in the OBDII port. This problem is very popular for cheap low quality adapters. Sometimes it is enough to gently move the adapter in the port to restore the contact. Also, please check the OBDII pins on both adapter and vehicle sides: some pins may be bent or damaged.

• Adapter's malfunctioning.

• Damaged car's OBDII port, connection or wiring. 3rd party equipment is connected to CAN bus quite often and this work is not always done correctly or neatly. Please check the OBDII port and connectors and wires near it for any interference.

If none of this corrects the problem, contact FORScan support: https://forscan.org/contactus.html

Probably because the Explorer EV is technically a Volkswagen ID.4.
