Buying MotorCraft Parts @ Rock Auto ??

Post by NightShift »

Has anyone had experience ordering from Rock Auto? I'm in North America/USA just for reference.

I am looking to order Motorcraft CV Axles and Moog Sway Bar Links for my '13 Fusion Titanium AWD 2.0 EcoBoost. I may be ordering some suspension parts very soon as well, I suspect my struts are worn out and finding a loaded strut assembly for the 19" wheel package is a nightmare. So I may be looking for various parts very shortly.

I was curious about their authenticity and whether they offer the Ford warranty on their parts like some other resellers.

I also wanted to know if anyone has dealt with FordPartsGiant.com and/or Ford.OEMPartsOnline.com, as these were my 2nd and 3rd choices for exact part # matches and low prices from what I've seen so far.

Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated as well!

Rockauto is legitimate. Shipping is not cheap. Their return policy is restrictive and you can't talk to a person easily. But I was able to resolve a problem where the packaged Motorcraft part was wrong and they paid for all costs to replace it.

Fordparts Giant has favorable reviews on Ford forums.

Thanks for the info/help Don!

Greatly appreciated.

I ordered a pair of the latest designed Motorcraft CV axle assemblies for my Fusion with some Moog sway bar links (which I got the bar links for $18 each, nearly $80 total savings on those parts alone) from RockAuto and had a great experience and literally got 2 axles shipped same day and arrived 2 days later early in the day, I was very impressed.

The box to my front-right CV axle was truly mangled upon delivery but the axle wasn't damaged miraculously, and the other 3 boxes were perfect. All the correct parts and I saved like $800 on those parts alone vs the local higher end shop quote (which hilariously quoted me for "cheaper aftermarket parts to save me money".

I recently ordered from AutoNation Parts to get a mix of OEM and Aftermarket parts for various repairs on my Fusion - since they were the only source I could find that had all the parts I needed all in one place - and somehow they managed to make it a painful experience..

My order was split in half when processed because they claimed the parts wouldn't fit my car, even though they are clearly for my VIN according to the manufacturers & Ford alike. My order was delayed like 4-5 days due to their slow processing and mis-information plus their shipping dates were off by a long shot, which I did not expect from AutoNation of all placed but it was also my first time ordering from them.

Thanks for the advice, I almost ordered from Ford Parts Giant but they had slightly higher prices for what I needed, I like their website and the parts catalog system they use as well.

One Rockauto feature to pay attention to is where are the parts shipping from. They drop ship from various warehouses across the country. If you can get all parts to come from one place, they will arrive faster and maybe cheaper. I really like the selection of manufacturers for each part.

Agreed. I'm definitely on the RockAuto wagon now, I saved several hundred bucks on my first order compared to other places. Thanks for the info!
