FORScan v2.3.69 release notes

Post by FORScan »

This version includes the following important changes:

1. Transition to a new Extended License protection system.

The old protection system was used by us for decades and we were very fond of it. Unfortunately, its developer abandoned the product long ago, and it has presented numerous issues in recent years. The advantages of the new system are as follows:

- Code signing capability, which significantly reduces the likelihood of false positives from antivirus software (the primary reason for the switch).
- Correct operation on ARM processors.

As for drawbacks, we must note the significantly increased size of the EXE file, as well as the relatively long application startup time (up to 3-5 seconds on slower computers).

Due to the transition to the new protection system, owners of paid licenses must reactivate using the same activation code. If a relatively recent version of FORScan was previously installed, FORScan will automatically prompt for reactivation during the installation of v2.3.69.

Users of free licenses will have to generate new license for this version. It is important to note that the Hardware ID format has changed. The chances of entering the ID manually are now minimal, so it must always be copied via the clipboard.

Otherwise, the logic of operation for Standard and Extended Licenses remains unchanged.

2. Added the ability to revoke a license key for a specific computer on the FORScan server.

This helps avoid the "Maximum number of activations exceeded" error in case of a Hardware ID change.

Image

Currently, this feature is available only for paid Extended Licenses. A license key cannot be revoked earlier than 24 hours after its generation.

3. Added a function to test the connection to the FORScan server for a selected Internet API.

Image

This significantly simplifies diagnosing connection issues and selecting the correct Internet API version.

4. Other improvements.

PATS programming for some newer models, along with various fixes, additions, and improvements which can be viewed in the Change Log.

Updated to v2.3.69 this morning. Yesterday we were able to access the BCM on a 2017 Ford f-150. Today, after updating Forscan, the BCM does not populate as an installed module on the same truck. PCM for a 2018 Ford F-150 raptor also gave an error code (sorry I don't have the code saved) when accessed and could not pull codes from it. Please advise

Had the version before and could read codes on 2010 f150. Just updated and got new license key and now it won’t read atleast half the modules, mainly the ecu.

Unfortunately, version 2.3.69 contained a serious bug that could cause module recognition issues. This has been fixed in version 2.3.70, which was released several days ago. We strongly recommend to upgrade.

Приветствуют всех. Как узнать код двери в этой версии? Пофиксили?
