Can someone give me a brief explanation of these two error codes?

Post by Tim_vr6 »

Sorry for my questions, but I'm completely unfamiliar with the Ford and ForScan world. (I'm from the VAG group and I'm involved with VAGCOM.)

However, I bought a 2011 S-Max 2.2CDTI automatic transmission for my wife.
I just replaced the battery and scanned the car with ForScan.
Two errors remain that can't be cleared.
Both errors are in the PDM for the left and right doors.

Code: PDM and DDM: C1B15:15-2F

Code: C1B15 - Sensor Supply voltage -B-
Additional fault symptom (:15)
- Circuit short to battery or open

Status (-2F):
- Dtc present at time of request
Module Driver door (and also in passenger module)

Can someone explain what this error means?

I apologize if I'm posting this question in the wrong forum section.'

These codes show the ECU (probably the BCM) is not seeing voltage on the door module sensors. There reason could be the voltage is not there (broken wire, blown fuse or many other possibilities) or something is shorting the voltage to ground and the BCM sees zero volts.

Check fuses and wiring. The DDM could also be faulty.

Since the DTC is "present" it is a problem that is currently happening, not something that occurred in the past and then went away.

Google search will explain these codes in detail.

It's very common for strange DTCs to come and go without any noticeable problems. I get one for a window limit switch circuit occasionally but everything works OK.
