Trouble programming used ABS ECU - VIN mismatch issue (2012 Ford F-150)

Post by Stability4206 »

I’m trying to install a used ABS ECU because a new one seems impossible to find, even the local dealer couldn’t provide one. Unfortunately, I can’t complete the full initialization procedure.

I followed the video below exactly 1:1, but instead of reading 3 memory banks, I can only read 1. After that, I’m able to request the online match, but when I try to continue to the next procedure to correct the VIN number, I only see one option available, enabling or disabling Hill Start Aid.

Using an OBDLink EX to communicate with the car and pro license FORScan.

Does anyone know how to get this working properly? The ABS module is currently showing a DTC code for VIN mismatch.

Is the part number exactly the same? The video is for a 2015 truck. 2012 and 2015 could be considerably different. What version of FORScan? May need to use 2.4.21. Possibly try a vLinker FS cable.

Using the latest 2.3.69 version, i can't find an 2.4.x version on the website.

The VCI OBDLink EX is an 100% compatible VCI why should i change that? Never had an issue with it, or is vLinker FS better?
