How do I restore the old version of the PCM module after an update from a Ford dealer?
Ford dealer updated the pcm module on my Mondeo mk5 2.0 Ecoblue 2021. according to recall 24E06 related to the regeneration of the DPF. I did not like how the car behaves after this update. In your opinion, can I return the old version of the pcm module to the ford mondeo mk5 ecoblue 2021. I have the paid version of Forscan! The old version of the pcm is KS7A-14C204-AKJ, and the new version, after the update, is MS7A-14C204-CF.

Updating PCM firmware can be complicated and requires significant Forscan knowledge. There are no instructions on what to do after the firmware has been updated. It is not plug and play.
You may not be able to find the previous firmware version. Ford has limited access to firmware database.
If you have driveability problems, return to the dealership. They may have not done the update and follow up procedures properly. It's doubtful the update is causing your vehicle to run poorly.

Thanks for your answer and your advice! That's exactly what I plan to do! I'll go back to the dealer who did the update. I already have an appointment!Don Ridley wrote: Wed Feb 04, 2026 3:34 pm Updating PCM firmware can be complicated and requires significant Forscan knowledge.
