Hi ALL
A little puzzled, I have been using this tool for years, I purchased a one off licence over 6 years ago and have been coding keys and modules since then. I always presumed it was an extended licence because of this, but as it was so long ago I can’t be positive.
When I tried to code a HIVAC module to a transition got the msg extended licence needed.
I applied for a free two month licence but can’t open the file returned to me either on a new I pad or on my laptop that runs the Forscan, (Admittedly it is running on win7 pro).
Can my licence have changed on an update at some point?
Is it possible to have my licence emailed or what is needed to open the file sent to me?
Sorry of I’m being a dumb ass but I’m not good with these computer things!
Thanks
Andy

Re: Licence change?i
The only help for the old "Lifetime" license(Assuming that is what you are asking) would be at one of the license topics at this link https://forscan.org/support/start.php?l ... ct_id=fsel, using the FORScan support process!sparki1 wrote: Wed Feb 04, 2026 5:25 pm Hi ALL

Will require your original Invoice number and email address!
One year Paid licenses have been suspended through the FORScan Products page at the moment but may still available from a member at a Facebook FORScan group?
Any Update of the hardware(New hard drive can cause this and/or new windows install) in your computer could change the Hardware ID that the license is tied to and render the license invalid! This applies to Paid and Trial licenses!
A Free trial license key should not need to be opened in Windows but only installed within FORScan using the "Load License Key" button under the Wheel icon in FORScan! Then navigating through the File manager that opens, to the folder in which you saved the "FORScan license.key" file,(Presuming to your Downloads folder under your user name account and as of the release of FORScan Version 2.3.69/2.4.21 will be named FORScanLicenseV2.key )!
Note that the free trial will only work on the Hardware ID from the computer that you submit to the License site!
Each computer must have a separate trial license key downloaded and installed and cannot be transferred between computers!
Each User name and email address is limited to Two(2) trial licenses!
Then left click to high lite the key file(FORScanLicenseV2.key, do not double click or press any open button) and press the "OK" button and FORScan will do the rest!
FORScan will ask if you wish to restart and click yes and when it reopens , navigate to the "wheel Icon and the "Enter Activation Code" button should be "Greyed out" and a message as to the license period should be shown!
See this topic for an example of the navigation to the windows user account under which will be the Downloads Folder if you saved it there?: viewtopic.php?p=106137#p106137
Hope that helps?
