You can reprogram the new radio to your vehicle using Forscan, the BA and BF ICC Units do not have a radio code you enter, they have a code that is linked to the BEM/PCM and when you swap a different radio in it shows 'CODE' or 'SECURITY CODE ERROR' on the screen, simply plug into your car, start Forscan and get an Extended License for Forscan, then in the service procedures, run the ACM (Audio Control Module) matching function and in several seconds the new radio should kick into life.

Otherwise, you can hold down the AM and Menu Buttons and the radio will unlock for about 5 minutes of use.

I would like to add something that might be useful for somebody:
If a premium ICC unit is fitted into a basic model BA/BF, it is very likely you won't be able to remove the security code using Forscan until you replace the existing basic BEM ( Blue color for falcons) to a premium BEM ( Green). It means premium ICC required premium BEM.
After replacing BEM, PATS , Key coding etc should be performed.

If I replace my 2004 BA XR6 ICC with a 2007 BF ICC should this be a relatively easy change over?

They are direct swap.
Keep your original BEM module that is bolted to the bottom of the ICC so you vehicle will start and then just perform ICC linking procedure to remove the CODE.

I appreciate all your advice it will be of great assistance.
1. .Could you explain the ICC code linking procedure and also what is required to do it!
2. The symptoms of my ICC are occasional intermittent locking on individual heater control functions ie.
Air conditioning locked on won't change from floor to windscreen control or from face /floor/ windscreen etc.
All these control functions just seem to lock on the one settings when the system fails.
A hit on the left side of the ICC with an open hand seems to reactivate the controls, is this a common symptom indicating of the impending complete failure of the ICC?
3. On initially starting the car the ICC seems to cycle through itself I was just wondering if this is normal or an indication of the ICC gradually failing?
4 . The BEM seems to be functioning properly as I've had no trouble with interior lighting or the central locking etc with the vehicle.
5. I have watched the disassembly procedure of the ICC and the refitment of a new one as you can understand the more information I received will definitely make the whole procedure easier and prevent me from overlooking something and having to redo the whole thing again.
5. I have seen that there are newer upgraded versions of the original Bosch BEM for around $200 has anybody had any dealings or any advice in regards to these or would it just be easier to transfer the old one over to a replacement ICC if it's still functioning properly.
I don't have any idea of the lifespan of a BEM in a XR6 BA Falcon, Nov 2004. I have read of them failing but I don't know how frequently.

1. you will need an extended license for forscan and of course a good working OBD adapter so you can communicate to you car and forscan. Under service procedures you should find something like ACM Configure / I do not remember exact wording, but there will be only two options for ACM( audio control Module), so choose just upper one.
2. These are typical ICC problems.
3.Never seen like this, but sounds like it plays up and faulty.
4. You can keep original BEM if it has no problem.
5.Remove the shifter surrounding by pulling it up, undo couple of screws and remove left and right trims. Remove upper triangle cover ( likely to crack) by using an old credit card and prying out from the top corners). Remove the philips screw behind that cover, remove 4pcs 8mm head bolts holding the ICC. Unplug 4 connectors from the bottom of BEM and antenna plug. Pull the whole ICC straight out and do not touch the large connector behind the radio. This one is self locking/unlocking plug. When putting a new ICC back, just align it in the dash opening and then gently and evenly push it back till it sits. reverse remaining steps to complete connectors and fasteners stuff.
6.You can replace BEM with a green color ( second hand $40-70), but it is up to you. Your original BLUE might never fail. If you replace BEM you will need to do PATS reset procedure, means having 2 keys and after that also check BEM configuration to make sure it for SEDAN etc.
