Electronic Brake Booster - Brake fluid bleeding

Post by lemonslap »

Is a service mode available for bleeding the brakes on Ford’s equipped with EBB? Ford state that normal brake bleeding procedures cannot be used as it will damage the EBB. Would the ABS bleed function be safe to use and serve the same purpose?

I will add that FORScan may not perform the ABS bleed procedure properly. On a 2013 Explorer ABS bleed the pedal only dropped 1/2" or so. That didn't feel right. I used a Launch tool and the pedal dropped 2-3 inches and pulsated noticeably, which is correct. The instructions were the same for both scan tools.
