Have a 2013 Escape, lost one key fob and have one working fob.
It's push button start with an IA proximity fob.
Trying to add the new fob through ForScan, bought a year Extended License.
When I try to use Ignition Key Programming (RKE + PATS) every time I end up getting "Security Access Denied"
I'm switching back and forth between HS and MS with the switch on the adapter, which I have programmed many other things with before so I know if works, just not this time...
I feel like I am missing something in the steps that maybe it isn't telling me to do?

I don't know the answer to your problem but, the first thing you should do is get the proper adapter. FORScan recommends the vLinker FS. Available on Amazon for about $35. FORScan does not recommend any adapter with a manual switch.

Thats a good call, I hate having to flip the HS MS switch anyways so I ordered the Vgate vLinker FS should have it tomorrow to try it out, will post back the results. Thanks!

Re: Ignition Key Programming (RKE + PATS) - Security Access Denied
Got the Vlinker and its great so nice to not have the HS MS switch!
Got into the Ignition Key Programming (RKE + PATS) however no luck programming the new key. When I put it in the slot on the steering column it says "No key detected. Key Programming Failed - Suspect not Compatible Key. Programming PATS Key Failed"
I tried the existing key in the same slot and it says "Key already programmed" so it senses the old key but not the new one. Perhaps the Amazon key is no good. I checked it battery and its the same FCC and Part# but will likely need to order another, unless somebody else has advice on this error?

Re: Ignition Key Programming (RKE + PATS) - Security Access Denied
I’m having similar problem to you I managed to do all keys lost with Launch XProg. However I only get ignition no start and same security access denied when trying to initialise with forscan. I’ve tried with J2534, Ford VCM and vlinker. Fault codes currently U201f in RFA and P161 in PCM. I have feeling it’s something to do with forscan not recognising transponders. Usually it says “Number of Keys Stored:2” “Number of RKE Transponders: 2”
My current thought process is to get new keyless receivers and will try to see if maybe that’s at fault. Car is a 2017 Focus. Unfortunately no solution yet but might give you some idea of where to go next if you maybe know how to get transponders to be recognised again.
