ABS Module Not Accepting AsBuilt Data

Post by autobusters »

Trying to change out a blown abs module. I don't know what happened to the original, the module refuses to initialize. First replacement module I bought responded with "Writing block 1 failed", "The vehicle conditions are incorrect", and "Service procedure has been interrupted" when trying to write the vin. This module's numbers (part number, etc) didn't match the original module. Turns out the module is from a 2015 1.6l awd while the car it's going in to is a 2016 2.0l awd. The seller switch modules on me without saying anything, I thought I was buying a numbers matching module. So, i get a numbers matching module, module 1. Same result when trying to write the vin. Module 2 came from a 2016 1.6l awd. Looks like even with matching numbers, I can't program the vin. I am beginning to think i need a module out of a 2016 2.0l awd, even if the numbers don't match.

When writing the vin, I load the AsBuilt data I saved from the original module. There is no other configuration information I can write. Need to know what to do to get an abs module working.

Though the part number is the same, the firmware may be different between two drivetrains.

Try manually changing the as built data one line at a time.
