My elm adapter is very old, maybe 10 years or something. I didn't even remember the darn thing existed, until i bought my current car, Mondeo Mk3 2.0 DI Duratorq -01.
I tried to do the mod thing with the adapter (switch) and not just try but did it, but there's no change whether the switch is hi or low can? Is it not working with my mondy or is it the adapter?
I can get connected with the car by using the adapter, but the switch doesn't seem to have any purpose?

On your build year there is no use for the switch.
Beginning with facelift models starting in the middle of 2003 you can access some more functions with the switch like climate control and audio control unit (ACU).
