live data question

Hello,
I have recently started using an elm327 cable along with this software for my Focus. I have a question about reading Live Data. After I connect to the ECU I can run all the sections except the Live Data (PID), it just keeps on trying to connect even though it is connected and nothing is shown, I have waited for 5 minutes to see the live data.
I was wondering how long should I wait in order to read the data from sensors (PID data)?

When you run the program for the first time, there are no PIDs selected for live streaming. So you need to select several ones. Double click on a gauge or press the Setup button at the bottom. PIDs selection dialog will be opened. Select some PIDs in the left part of the dialog, press the right arrow to move them to the right part (selected), then press OK/
