And did you run "Reset pilot injection quantity learned values" ?
Yes i did. I spent hours trying to learn the vehicle that i am the owner....
So the function ""Reset pilot injection quantity learned values" was executed successfully (no error) but nothing changed? Please confirm.

Also, did you try to read Fuel Injector Correction Factors as we advised to FocusMK3 above? We suspect they were reset as well (so you should see zeros or something). If not, can you please read it?
mishueen wrote:Do i need to load calibration for PCM? If so i need to go to dealer to use IDS since focccus return an security error at 1% when attempting to load PCM .vbf.
Unfortunately we still don't quite understand what causes such a behaviour. So yes, it seems the quickest way to solve the problem is to visit a dealer and upload new calibration (FORScan doesn't support this function yet).

Hi there

yes i did the "Reset pilot injection quantity learned values" twice . There was a change , rattle decreased while engine idle, however during driving acceleration is coming back badly.

Fuel Injector Correction Factors - B8 EK LJ BC HJ MJ 97GF FF 9D KF GF

I noticed NO CHANGE on these values during the entire period of my attempts - looks constant (i have a print screen with this values from the very beginning to compare with).

Thanks for your support. you are doing a great job there. you mentioned YET so are you planning to add it i presume. If so, when we will have it...? :)

Spoke with dealer and Friday they will service all the modules - hopefully

Cheers,
Mishu

Is this job possible done by Ford IDS system? The menu states it is compatible with this function, but I have no luck to work it out, can someone just offer me a hand

Please keep us informed about results - especially interested to find out what exactly dealer does to restore the configuration.

FORScan wrote:The problem is that it seems the Reset All Adaptations function in case of Focus 3 1.6 TDCi clears important data related to injection. These data must be re-initalized in order to have engine working properly.

Please do the following:

1. Download this new test build:

http://forscan.org/download/FORScanSetu ... 191114.exe

2. Uninstall old version, install this new one.

3. Execute Service function "Reset pilot injection quantity learned values"

4. Clear all DTCs using Reset DTC button.

5. Drive the vehicle for 8 km at least

6. Check again the errors.

Please email us results. It would be interesting to see what are Fuel Injector correction factors before and after the procedure (you can use service function Read Fuel Injector Correction Factors)

Please use email for a quick feedback.
I'm going to do the procedure this days.
Do you think I'm going to experience the same "2 days of engine madness" after these steps?
Because I need the car to work.

We do not expect it, because you should not run the Reset All Adaptations functions anymore (it seems only this function causes such a behaviour). However, if your engine work ok, then may be it doesn't make sense to try this function. We expected it will help to fix the problem of incorrect work after the reset, but as mishueen has found out, this service function doesn't really help to fix it.

"Reset pilot injection quantity learned values" done.
Fuel Injector correction factors before and after the procedure are the same. See attached image. The procedure apparently stuck indefinitely at 0% but I think it was ended. I had to stop it anyway.

The engine gone bad but not so bad as with "Reset all adaptation";
I did 15km, the engine did better every km, but fuel usage rocketed up to stellar values.

I hope fuel usage will decrease. Before all this I was complaining for my 16km/l but after the full reset is even worse.

So. I went to the dealer and explained my adventure. He told me that clearing all adaptation is a HEALTHY process fot the car from time to time and he is even recommending this process as the car indeed learn its values during driving cicle. So he plugged the ids and after uploading all the calibration updates he cleared the learned values also. He asked me to join him on a ride and i jumped in passenger seat holding the laptop for him. He stared a cycle of learning WHICH IS VERY STRICT ,not just a random driving. I red all the info on the learning process page since the laptop wasin my hands....

Read carrefully:

1.3rd 4th 5th or 6 gear
2.Over 40 km/h
3.Deceleration repeatedly from 2500rpm to 1500rpm for 20 km (we ended sooner)

I asked him to let me take a picture with the page he was on and he refused me. He told me to write down the 3 steps above but no pic...☺
There were several stages he must complete to have all the injectors learned - initially all 4 were red with a big 0 on. During the cycle each injector changed the 0 value to other value (3 4 5...don't remember) till finally reached 7 and turned green. Learning complete. He repeated this cycle until all 4 were on 7 and turned to green.

So guys if don't have an IDS clear /reset those adaptations and do EXACTELY as described above , as the learning is only applying when decelerate. He eplained that to me. He told me that the car was better after learning performed by me but not best because i didn't follow the procedure.
I asked him how can i do it myself next time and he told me that without IDS i will not know when the process is complete. Then i asked him what if i'm driving for 30 min as he did (2500 to 1500 and back to 2500 and back to 1500 and so on) and he smiled telling me that YES if you do that you will learn the values correctly for sure because the learning process took about 10- 15min to complete. With other words without IDS just to be on the safe side make it double...30 min up and down and the learning will complete.

Hope the above helps you. Clear all adaptation IS A SAFE process and i would love to see it back. Delaer told me that he personally will clear adaptations each 50-60k km but a must at 100k.
I have my silent car back ,there is no loud rattle at all and fuel consumption back to where it was (if not better)

Cheers

See my post ! Clear again and do the steps for 30 min in 3rd gear 2500rpm to 1500rpm. Be as sharp as you can with the rpm.
Your car sould learn correclty this time and likely back to normal run. I suggest doing it on a empty road as in my case he was oncerned abut the tracfic behind and the idiodic driving style he perfomed...☺
Let us know the results..

Cheers buddy

PS :he told me that if is not doing this process correclty it will not reach 7 (green) ever. That means learning has to be perfomed exactely as the IDS expect speed over 40 min 3rd gear 2500 to 1500. If is going below 2500 for example, that cycle is discarded.
