Odo rollover

Post by gminton »

Folks, I have a 2007 Ford Focus 1.8L diesel wagon (WF0WXXGCDW) with an IC that died. I obtained a new IC from a wrecker, but on plugging it in, I found it had much higher mileage than mine did. Because mileage can't be reduced, I used 'Focccus' tool to increase mileage to 999999 thinking that it would roll over to 0 & then I would be able to increase to my original mileage, but it just stays stuck at 999999 (I drove it for ~1000km like this & tried Focccus again and the Car CPU is registering 1001000, but only displaying 999999 on the IC. Focccus still won't allow the IC to be reset to my lower original mileage (240k)). Does anybody know if there is any hardcode way to reset/rollover the IC so I can set it to 240k? Any help appreciated!
Thanks

Use Ford OBD Tool. Cheap tool you can use to get it.

Does that app work with all CAN enabled OBD devices, or only with theirs?
