2017 F-350 3rd light camera

Post by fastford »

Have a 2017 F-350. For something different I changed my dash to a Lincolin Presidential dash. Did not notice till I had to hook up my 5th wheel, that my 3rd brake light camera for my 5th wheel hitch was not avalibe to use. It is not on my camera list anywhere. So I thought that because Lincolin does not have a truck for a 5th wheel that maybe the programming will not give the option. I switched back to the Ford dash and still have no camera. I'm pretty new to this and any help would be great. The rest of the mods work great!! Police lock, horn honk and nav while moving are awesome.

If switching back didn't fix the problem, I would suspect wiring got damaged while changing the dash..

Sorry was not clear. The dash is all factory and has not been changed. Just changed Sync Boot screen to Lincolin. Then back to Ford.

Ah, I get it. Just the boot logo changed.
Changing the value for the boot screen shouldn't effect any other functionality as far as I know.
But then again, you're on a Sync3 system, right? I don't really know much about Sync3 as far as what might be different. Still, I don't expect that change to effect anything, especially after changing it back.

Did you change anything else in the As Built data?
For example, the "Nav in motion" change is really changing a region code so the car thinks it's in a region where there is no restriction on data-entry while moving. It has side-effects like disabling Sirius.
Changing DRL settings also effects the rear lights, so if you changed DRL settings then consider that as well.

My only other suggestion would be to download the AsBuilt data from Ford as it came from the factory, and compare to check for anything that may have changed.

Or question any wiring involving the camera / hitch.

No physical mods done just on the laptop. Nav in motion did not affect Sirius in no way. Only thing it did was change my clock. Yes Sync 3. Where can I get the as built data from? Going to change all back to factory and change one by one to see what affects that camera.
