Thanks
Reprogram transmission adaptative tables
Re: Reprogram transmission adaptative tables
I came on here looking to see if there had been any developments with forscan that would let me update the PCM firmware on my '14 fusion and I saw your post. Updating the firmware would be the only way to have a chance at a permanent fix as wiping the KAM is only temporary and the same crappy adaptive learn strategy shows up. I think forscan can also reset the PCM but I'm not sure if that alone will clear the adaptive learn strategy. I'm going to try firmware update first (dealer if I have to), and if that doesn't fix it, I'm going aftermarket tune. Only downside with aftermarket is CPO warranty is at risk. This car shifted great when i first got it, but it didnt take long for it to bang the 1-2 shift, and get flat out confused and do nothing and then suddendly bang a hard downshift while passing.
I also feel that the overly sensitive gas pedal exacerbates the problem.

Hi, did you find how to do it ?
Re: Reprogram transmission adaptative tables
I did not; firmware updates seem a long way off, if we ever see it at all. It's an inconvenience, but I'm going to try dealer update to pcm (and ipc for another issue of defaulting to tach) and see if that helps. If not, aftermarket tune it is.

Re: Reprogram transmission adaptative tables
I recently got a 2013 ford fusion with 79k Mileage. I have noticed the 1st gear hard shifting and the 2-3 gear delayed shifting.
I am not sure if anyone has been able to permanently resolve this issue. I do have the recall for the transmission shiftier scheduled soon but doubt that will correct anything having seen that the issue is caused by the PCM/ adaptive transmission.
I told the dealership about this but all they could tell me was to bring in my card and pay $145 for diagnosis. I find it hard to believe that don't already know what the course of this problem is.
Please anyone can anyone who has been able to resolve this let us know how they did.
Thank you

I know this post is old but hopefully it helps someone else...I don't have the car any longer. I did end up putting an aftermarket tune on it (unleashed) and he provided a few revisions as I tested the car out and reported back. The transmission worked beautiful after this, plus the addition of significant HP and torque. I did still do an occasional clearing of the KAM via the SCT4 device but it was rare that it needed it. It drove consistently good in all kinds of traffic.

Hi there.
Can you, please, tell us what kind of aftermarket tune you did and solved the problem?
Regards.
Re: Reprogram transmission adaptative tables
Hey guys, my 2014 Fusion 2.0 EcoBoost is jerking when shifting from R to D and from D to R. While driving, the shifts are normal. I've checked all the mechanical parts and found nothing wrong. I've also tried resetting the adaptive transmissions.
Has anyone else experienced this? Did you find a solution?
It happens mainly when the car is hot.
