Setting arbitrary tire sizes for speedometer calibration

i have done speedo correction with HP Tuners on a 2017 Ford F150 Raptor cause we put 35x12.5x22
after that i got wrench light with DTC U0422:00-2F in PCM and P160A:00-AF in TCM

The only way to fix the wrench light is re programming BCM with IDS and do Powertrain ->Service Functions -> relearn vehicle data with IDS.

dose anybody know a solution to succsesfull adjust speedometer?

To all of you experiencing the P160A DTC, FORScan is now able to perform a "Module initialization/Relearn vehicle data" on the PCM. This seems to do the same thing that IDS can do:



You need to set your desired tire size,restart, perform the "Module initialization/Relearn vehicle data", restart, clear P160A DTC and you should be good to go.

Apparently, some vehicles also need a TCM relearn performed.

I have a 2013 F150 and cannot get this to do anything with my truck. I just had 295/60 R20 Nitto Ridge Grapplers installed on my OEM 20" rims. I've tried changing the pre-canned settings, and a customer setting using the calculator, and no matter what I do, my speedometer is 3 MPH slow.
Any thoughts?
If it can be done with a tuner, which I have read can be done, I have to believe that it can be done with Forscan.

AFAIK, this can only be done on 2015+ F150s that use what I call the "current generation" of as-built and modules. Nobody's been able to get it to work on a 2014 and older model year F150.

In your procedure summary in this post, you mention "You need to set your desired tire size,restart, perform the "Module initialization/Relearn vehicle data", restart, clear P160A DTC and you should be good to go."

To what are you referring when you say "restart?" Do you mean cycle the ignition off then on, or do you mean close FORScan and reopen?

Trying to figure out how to change my tire size on my 08 f250 can find any info anywhere if anyone has any insight on changing to a 37 inch tire that revs 560 per mile that be great thanks

Interesting, did that change your speedometer? I would have thought that the sensor on the trans output shaft would be used.

Is 225/60/18 going to be 2208 or 2284?
2208 in hex would be 0x8A0
2284 in hex would be 0x8EC

Tried this on my 2013 Ford F150 and it worked like a dream. GPS says 100km/h, the speedo says 100km/h. The GPS says 110km/h, the speedo says 110km/h! Awesome work my friend! This is a great community of good people helping each other out. I be liking very much!... The only thing that surprised me was when I looked under the "BdyCM Module Configuration" (not as built) it shows tire size as "error". Don't think it makes a difference either way, but No P0160a codes, and it works like a charm. Thanks again.

Would you know which block a 2006 Ford Fusion 2.3L 5 speed Manual would be under for speedo calibrations? Is there a master list of descriptions for these lines somewhere?

Interesting, did that change your speedometer? I would have thought that the sensor on the trans output shaft would be used.

Worked like a charm. Speedometer reads correctly now. It reads the speed from the ABS sensor on top of the differential.....Just like my '85 F350 Cummins.

The PCM "Module initialization/Relearn vehicle data" does not appear for a 2018 Expedition. I am using the latest beta. 2.3.17 beta2 for windows.

Can anyone confirm or deny that this method would work on an '11 escape? I've compared ABD with another escape with different stock tires and have found one bcm line change and four abs line changes, but not sure as to which one to alter.

using the excel calulator at the start of this thread results in a 225/65/17 showing as xxxx 0898 xxxx which i do not see in the bcm or abs lines

what i have found, in the pcm log in forscan, is that it has a listing of tire sizes and corresponding rpm. it shows my stock 225/65/17 as 731, which is off, as its 708 rpm. but factoring in a 98.65% conversion gets me 731 rpm.

Wonder if i could find a way to alter the pcm's tire rpm value.

Solved my own issue, for anyone who was curious this vehicle has it in the pcm, forscan is unable to change it beyond factory settings. Ended up using an sct tuner to adjust it.
