Forgetting about HS/MS switch

Post by alchemyx »

Hello,

From another thread I understand that if I connect cable to Forscan and it asks
if I have MS/HS switch, then it will stop asking for that. But unfortunately it still does.
I have that switch and it on first connection asks if I have that switch then ask to switch it.

Thanks

FORScan has no way to find out (in automated mode) if the adapter has HS/MS CAN switch or not. So the only way to find this out is ask user about it. Second problem is that normal ELM327 adapters have no any ID that can be used to identify them. It means, when you connect second, third etc time, FORScan is unable to detect if you use the same adapter (that has HS/MS CAN swtich) or some other one. So, status of switch cannot be remembered.

We are aware about this problem and going to solve it in one of next versions as the following: there will be a special setting in the Settings pane that can be used to set the MS-CAN status (yes no auto etc).
