pilot learn on mk 7 transit 2.2 tdci

Post by ricky 2.2 tdci »

Hi, Could anybody help, I have fitted 4 new injectors, new prv and inlet metering valve, also maf sensor, to the van, put in correction codes, worked fine, Then tried to do the pilot learn function and it wont go through because fuel pressure is too high or too low, It is very low on power and goes into limp mode all the time, but especially when cold, Any ideas? Thanks for any info.

The failure is not caused by the pilot injection learning function. Fuel metering valve replacement requires its own service function to be executed - High Pressure Fuel Pump learning. This function has to be executed prior to pilot inection learn. Unfortunately this service function is not implememented in FORScan yet.

Please go to Dashboard and find PID PMPLRN_ST, read value from it. "Learned" value of it means the pump is learned. Any other value means it is not and you have to run the fuel pump learning. If so, you have 2 options: execute this function on a dealership scanner or wait until this function is implemented in FORScan. We can try to raise prioirty for its implementation, but it will take days anyway, because the function is quite complex. If case of second option, please email us and let us know (email address is available on Contact Us page, or you can use PM).

Thank you for your reply, Because the van has been to ford and never been the since, I would rather wait till I can sort it out myself. It would be great if you could raise priority for the function to be included,
Thanks again,

Just checked and it says pump learn status is "learned"

That's odd... What are DTCs displayed by FORScan?

The van is running fine on open road at steady pace, although under powered, but if I change down a gear it goes into limp mode.
The cog light is on all the time because the learn hasnt been completed.
Thank you.

Ok, we will implement the pump learn function as soon as possible, in the meantime please send us internal FORScan logs (bye email) as described on Contact Us page.

Log analysis shows that DTC 121C (fuel leaking) is present. Most likely this is why the Pilot Learn function failed. We recommend to check the FRP and FRP_DSD PIDs in different modes of work, as well as visually check the fuel system for leaking.

Forscan. I changed the valves again, tried the injection learn, goes to 81% and tells me to switch off ignition, then stops. Giving me no reason just saying it has been interupted, No dtc's now.
After changing the prv and scv for gen parts the van is now running great. Cog light still on because the injectors haven't learned.
Any ideas now,
Thanks.
