Remote start learn

Post by Faldo »

I have a 2014 police interceptor sedan which I have enabled keyless entry. I have two remotes and had no issues programming them. I have since purchased a one-button remote start fob from Ford (part # DS7Z-15K601-F). I installed the hood pin, I enabled the remote start with Forscan, and it also shows up in the instrument cluster. I have been unable to have the fob "remote learn". I tried programming the fob using the following instructions but with no luck:

1.) Start with doors unlocked
2.) Driver's door open (remaining open throughout)
3.) Verify that the gearshift lever is in the "PARK" position.
4.) Depress and hold brake pedal.
5.) Start with ignition key OFF.
6.) Cycle ignition key to the ON then OFF position 5 times, then back to the ON position a 6th time. -- The horn will honk 3 times to indicate transmitter learn mode access.
7.) Press the START button on each transmitter you wish to program. The horn will honk 1 time each time the START button is pressed to indicated the transmitter has been learned.

I am not really an expert in this, but maybe you also need the antenna kit for the single button remote to work.

I know this post is old but did you encounter the msgbox asking for strategy/calibration name or part number of FACTORY PCM and if so what did you use and or where did you get the information?

I have the same vehicle and can't get past it asking me for that info.

Thanks.

FYI, I did search the forums using multiple search terms.
