Does this procedure pair both the key (metal stick that goes in the door lock and/or ignition) AND the keyless entry clicker? Or just the key itself so you can start the truck or manually unlock the doors, but no keyless?
My 2015 f150 came with only one key (3 button switchblade style key-fob combo) when I bought it. I have purchased a blank 5-button switchblade key-fob which I will have cut to match. So the first question is will this process land me two fully functional key-fob for both the ignition and keyless entry, or just keys for the ignition? Second is whether or not this procedure works on a later model vehicle such as the 2015, I haven't seen anyone in this thread with a vehicle that new doing this procedure.
Locksmiths and dealers around here want $180/key fob to cut and program, so I would love to avoid that cost if possible given that I already have forscan up and running.
Thanks

did you figure it out ? i am into the same situation on 2019 f-150 xlt and i just want to duplicate key
Re: How to program PATS using FORScan v2.3.*
As long as you have 2 admin keys it will allow you to do it. I bought an F150 with only one key and prigrammed 2 more with forscan.
Re: How to program PATS using FORScan v2.3.*
Did you use the “erase and program” method or you just added another one ? I only have one key and I am afraid anything goes wrong and i lose what I have ... I just wanted to add another one but That is not much info here that other have done without problems
Re: How to program PATS using FORScan v2.3.*
You have to use the erase and program method. But, you have to have 2 admin keys stored in the vehicle under MyKey. I programmed 2 new keys, for a total of 3 and put the original in a magnetic case under the truck.

Re: How to program PATS using FORScan v2.3.*
Firstly, I must apologize if this has already been addressed, but I get some conflicting information.
I recently bought a 2008 F-150 (US Market) that only has one working, but worn out original key. I want to make (2) new keys. I have two good H92 Strattec backward compatible 80-bit blanks that I will cut to the original. The Forscan reveals I have two keys programmed originally. If I am understanding correctly, I can only have a maximum of EIGHT keys. Correct? If this is the case, I then need to ERASE all known keys and start from scratch if I want to make the 2 new keys active and THEN program the OLD key as the third backup.
But, If I just wanted to add one more key do I still need to erase the originals or can I just just select "Ignition Key Programming" to add a third?
Thanx,
Bud

If you have fewer keys than the display reads, you MUST use the erase function and program all the keys you want. I just did that with mine. I had 2 keys showing, only one physical key from dealership, and 2 new cut keys. Followed the erase and program checklist and now I have 3 programmed keys and 3 on the display.
