Re: How to program PATS using FORScan v2.3.*
I have 2015 Ford Explorer that i purchased with only one key, and FORScan said there were 2 admin keys. So I purchased another 4 button key and programmed another admin key.
Now it says there are 3 keys and i have only 2.
Since then, I used FORScan to enable remote start and purchased a 5-button key. I tried the 2 key method to program the 5-buton key, but it kept showing fault.
I thought i was going to have to erase all keys and start from scratch, but i was able to program the 5-button with FORScan and all works great.
Thank You for the continued support from all the staff and members.
As soon as my license expires, I will pay whatever for the lifetime license.

Same thing is happening to me, on 2015 F150. Already checked to make sure it is programmable. I click on PCM in the picture it only show to reset modules. no PCM pats.

Re: How to program PATS using FORScan v2.3.*
i ordered another 5-button key and tried to program it, but it failed.
So I reluctantly erased all keys and programmed the 2-5 button keys and 2-4 button keys(as backup), with total success.
I was nervous about erasing all keys and starting over, It never said anything about outcode or incode, this latest beta, must do it all without user input.
I checked all buttons on all keys and all worked, then started vehicle with all 4 keys.
I have to tell you, i was sweating and not only because it was 90 degrees at 9:00 pm here in Austin, Texas

Re: How to program PATS using FORScan v2.3.*
I'm getting ready to try this on my 2016 F250 that I just bought that only came with one key. I have downloaded ForScan, got the [trial] extended license, have the USB adapter and have confirmed connectivity and access to PATS programming, and am waiting on the keys I ordered (Strattec). The procedure seem pretty straight forward, my question is about the outcode/incode part; does ForScan auto generate the codes for my model year, or do I need to be prepared with an external website code generator? The one that I found referenced, autokeyprog.com, is no longer a valid site. Can someone help me with this or let me know if it's even needed before I start? Thank you.

Having the same problem. I have a 2019 Expedition that only came with one key. I purchased the extended license. When I connect, there is no PATS programming option like you see in all the "How to" articles and videos.ozracin wrote: Wed Aug 26, 2020 4:41 pm Same thing is happening to me, on 2015 F150. Hello,
FORScan does not show PATS for me, Fiesta 2014 EU model. Can someone confirm or how could I check if this one needs IDS or is it just my ELM327 adapter to blame?

2008 F-350 6.4L Powerstroke
- PATS module is seen on truck scan
- Entering PATS module always wants to initialize the module (the resync procedure), and never shows the options to program a key or erase all keys
I've done the initialization procedure several times, and it says it was successful. It ends with a message about cycling the key on and off with 15 second off intervals / 3 seconds on for a total of 5 cycles. I complete this, re-enter PATS, and it wants to resync / initialize.
Any idea how I get past this?
Thanks for any suggestions!

2002 Ford Ranger Edge 4x4 V6 4.0L
Situation: Bought this truck with one key.
How to resolve: Download FORScan and the extended license.
1. I bought an ELM off of Amazon after I downloaded FORScan and the extended license.
a. Issue with ELM...so I thought. FORScan would not recognize the ELM after plugging it in and running FORScan. So I thought it was a bad ELM. Returned it and bought a more expensive one.
2. With the new one, I plugged the new ELM into the OBD connection port, ran FORScan and still the same message.
a. Went to Autozone and asked to use the OBD2 tool.
b. Plugged it in and it didn't power on
c. Asked Autozone what the issue might be and they said the cigarette lighter fuse has to be bad.
d. Checked fuse and sure enough it was bad.
1. Replaced cigarette lighter fuse
3. Went home and plugged in the ELM, ran FORScan, and IT WORKED!!!! Went through all the diagnostics and I found the PATS Program under the service log.
4. Chose to Erase All PATS IDs.....yes my heart was pounding but I read through all this thread and TEAM FORScan reassures everyone it will work.
5. Sure enough I follow the step by step process (even took a picture of the steps just in case), the dialogue box stays up until you complete the process and clicked "ok"
6. Programmed 2 master keys. (the one I got when I bought the truck, and one more OEM Ford PATS key bought off of EBAY, I bought 2 OEM Ford PATS keys)
7. Closed FORScan
8. Programmed the last key using the owners manual steps.
THANKS A MILLION FORScan TEAM!!!! You guys rock. Time to make a donation.

Re: How to program PATS using FORScan v2.3.*
I'm having the same issue as jbresee post.
I have a 2008 F-250 XLT 4x4 6.8L 3V Trition V10.
Using Forscan 2.3.35 with Extended License.
1. I have tested my 2 keys for compatibility and received the P1601 code on both of them, which would indicate thatthe transponder can be read.
2. Cleared all DTC's and selected the PATS Programming Service;
3. It indicates that 3 keys are programmed and only gives me the option to Initialize.
I have not run the Initialization yet, but it doesn't seem like I have an option.
Is the reason why it says that there are 3 key programmed, due to my testing the key blanks for compatibility?
How do I get around this Module Initialization, to get to the PATS programming menu?
Thanks,
Al
