Transit Connect 2018: Turn off "Lights on" chime

Post by LeFish »

Hi there,

I would like to get rid of the "Lights on" chime, when ignition is off and door is ajar and the light switch is not at "0".

I do not understand the reason for the chime sound, because all lights are actually off, even when I have the light switch in "on" position (not in "parking light" position).

I have a standard light switch, no automatic.

Is there a way to turn this annoying signal off by software?

Best regards

My '16 TC is the same way. I leave the headlights on all the time so I've gotten used to it. But now that I have Forscan for my Explorer this interests me as well.

All chimes messages come from IPC module, look there using the filter "Chimes" , of course in configuration menu (not as built)

I looked into my Forscan to see which options I have.

I use the suggested CAN-adapter from this homepage: USB adapter OBDLink EX from Amazon

These are the only ones that I have, which are not a whole lot.

I guess IPC on Transit is not developed a lot. Or am I doing something wrong? I don't have a MS/HS Switch on my Adapter.

Do you have more options for the IPC module?

Thanks!

Yes, I've more, but each car has different modules related to version
I am using forscan with paid license, I think that it has more options with menu readable instead of as built, but not sure about it.
IPC works in ms-can, so, you need a scanner with a switch (ms/hs) or the scan that forscan recommends that can access both buses without a switch.

Also, my scanner elm327 (normal one with switch) has access to hscan2 and hscan3

@ fcoplo : VERY interesting!!! But even your two adapters seem not to have the same options?!

I ran a quick compare of the two pictures you sent:

Left hand side is adapter No. 1 and on the right hand side is No.2 (ELM327 with switch)

I just went over the information about TRIAL vs PAID Extended License. I think TRIAL has the same features, just for 2 months.

Would you kindly share your .ABT of the IPC with the "Lights chime" option in the Module Configuration menu ON and OFF for your vehicle? It states Kuga, which is the same base as the Transit/Tourneo Connect over here in Europe.

That would help so much!

Thanks!

Those pictures was from different cars, not differents scanner.
I have access to my car, Ecosport 2018, not possible to Kuga.
Do you want my as built code for ipc on my car? but how you will detect what each block is? I can paste here.
I think that You need support from Forscan, ask them for the ipc module with menu in your vehicle.
Maybe you will need to spend 10usd, but worth it.
