Laptops not working the same

I have an HP ProBook 455G3 w/ AMD A-8 7410 quad core. I use most often however the OBDLink EX (errors 3 - 0.3%) doesn't like that laptop it likes my Toshiba Tecra w/ Intel core i5 (errors 0 0.0%). The VINT-TT55502 works the same on my Tecra (errors 0) and better on my ProBook (errors 0-1). Same exact settings across the board except the processors.

different processors also means different chipsets & usb interface controllers - which is more likely the culprit
also, when you say same settings are you referring also to the baud settings for the virtual com port the usb-ex creates? might be worth checking...
