A For what it's worth post:

2013 F250 6.7L

I got a new-to-me truck that came with only one key. Since there was a rogue key floating around out there, I decided to re-code the ignition and door locks to match my Lincoln and then got some new 4-button remotes off Amazon cut to match the Lincoln key. As soon as I had the new ignition cylinder in place, I used Forscan to wipe all exiting keys (so the rogue key out there could never be used to start my truck) and added the new Lincoln clones.

That part went well, and the keys would now start the truck just fine, but the buttons would not lock/unlock the doors. So, I did a little digging and reading and based on error codes in here, I turned to eBay and bought some "genuine" Ford logo 4-button keys. I didn't realize that what I was buying was a pair of keys, so when I bought Qty:2, I actually bought 4.... they arrived, I got them cut, and I repeated the above process with the new Logo keys. Same result. I can start the truck and it disables the alarm if I turn the ignition, but the lock/unlock buttons don't work. So, I turned to a locksmith... he refused to sell me a key and told me to just do the standard key programming routine. I wish I could recall the website he sent me to for the proper directions (you could look it up for any vehicle, but Google is your friend, right?). Anyway, it was basically just this:

Close the doors, put the key in the ignition and turn to on.
Open the driver door.
Cycle the key to off and back to on 8 times, ending at On, within 8 seconds. If you do this right, the horn will beep.
Press any button on the key. The horn should beep.
Press any key on all remaining keys, one at a time, waiting for the horn beep.
Turn the key to Off.

That did the trick.... and, I now have six working keys for my truck

Note: At more than one point during this process, the code returned by Forscan in DTC following a reprogramming indicated that the keys could not be programmed, but they are now working just fine. I even just added remote start today and that is working without issue (make sure you enable in Body and IPC and then tell PCM to relearn). YMMV, but I suspect the key not programmable error, or whatever it is, might simply indicate that it cannot be auto-programmed; the keys still get successfully added as admin keys, but the buttons just don't get auto-programmed and have to be manually done the "old-fashioned" way.

2008 F-350 6.4L Powerstroke

- PATS module is seen on truck scan
- Entering PATS module always wants to initialize the module (the resync procedure), and never shows the options to program a key or erase all keys

I've done the initialization procedure several times, and it says it was successful. It ends with a message about cycling the key on and off with 15 second off intervals / 3 seconds on for a total of 5 cycles. I complete this, re-enter PATS, and it wants to resync / initialize.

Any idea how I get past this?

Thanks for any suggestions!
Jim

I recently purchased the FORScan Lite for my android tablet. Will I be able to do PATS Programming (keys ) with my android tablet? If so do I need to activate an extended license for it ?

No, you cannot do programming with FORScan Lite. You need to full version on a Windows based computer for that. See the FORScan.org for a list of features available for each platform.

I bought a 2015 Ford Mondeo MK5 but it only had one key but in the car configuration 2 keys appear as registered. Is it possible to write another new key myself without reaching a FORD dealer? If possible with Forscan , please tell me the steps to follow? The car has keyless go and keyless entry and has that special place for the key inside the armrest. Thank you very much

I don't think its possible because I have a ford mondeo mk4.5 from 2011(EU). But whenever I get in pats module the outcode that has been given can only be calculated with ford etis (online) or the dealership have to do this for me/you. Unless your car (pats) gives you a timer from around 15 minutes before you can program any key instead of a code you could program it yourself but i doubt it that it would be with a timer on a ford mondeo mk5. Other than that the car needs 2 keys registered in the system so it can start if you have 1 key and delete the other and have no spare key to register the car wont start.
Besides that you should search on the forums on this site these kind of information (there is plenty out there, even an how to program key forum is here). So then you would know what to do. You need a extended license for programming keys and some people tried to program keyless keys with keyless entry but forscan doenst provide a 100% working conditon for so far i Know and these people had issues to get it working 100%. Because keyless is on a other level and you have to acces/configure more than only the pats module for it to work 100%.

I think the only option is someone with ucds or the Ford stealer (dealer) to have program your key.

I bought a new remote start key for my mondeo mk5 vehicle in addition to my existing 2 original keys. Now my question is, can I encode this new key as a third key with forscan without deleting one of my other 2 devices?
