Hi All/FORScan developers,
I am having issues trying to do a static dpf regen on my Mazda 3 MZR-CD Y6 2009, the line of events is the following:
4 days ago, 10 minutes after leaving a beach with lots of wind and sand, the Powertrain/Engine light came on my car and it went into LOS mode, I automatically thought that something got clogged with sand
After using FORScan to read the error codes yesterday, P242F error is present and causing the LOS mode (DPF clogging), I then warmed up the engine, took a short trip around town and tried to do a Static Regen with FORScan (first time for me).
The regen is failing (Service interrupted, please contact developers). My setup:
- OBD2 - USB ELM 327 interface
- Windows 8 Laptop (Also tried with a Windows 7 virtualized on mac, same error)
Right now, i am thinking that i did not try starting FORScan with admin privileges, is this needed?
I have also sent a email to you guys with the logs taken from the Virtual WIN on mac (no access to the win8 laptop right now, will have access later). Any help appreciated. I live in Norway and taking the car to the dealership for a DPF Regen is 500+ $ in here
Regards,

Re: Mazda 3 MZR-CD Y6 DPF regen interrupted
As far as we know, the Y6 engine is the same installed on Focus Mk2 1.6. P242F on this engine usually means the volume of ash (not soot) is critical and PCM refuses to perform the regeneration. Here is the article created by FORScan user who experienced the same problem:

Otherwise, other alternatives are DPF removal or replacement.
